We have great prizes in store for top-sellers! We are also doing a macaroni drive to feed families for the upcoming holidays! Please send in boxes of macaroni. The homeroom with the most macaroni will win a prize! We are also in competition with Dyllis Springs and OSHS!

Parents, it's almost report card time - be on the look out!

6th grade - We will continue on and finish up with Ancient Egypt.
7th grade - We are starting a new unit this week, Ratios and Proportional Relationships.
As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to email me or call the school! Happy Fall!!

Be on the lookout....

Hello, Fall Break!!
I hope you all get to enjoy a great week with your kids! I just wanted to give you a little heads up before the break actually starts. We will be sending home some important information today, including our fundraiser information. This year we are doing RADA CUTLERY as a fundraiser. This stuff is amazing! The homeroom that sells the most and the top sellers will all be rewarded for their efforts! Please encourage your kids and help them to sell as much as possible. This will really benefit OSMS in a great way!
Again, enjoy the break! Have a safe and blessed fall break!

Wrapping up...

We are coming up on our last week before Fall Break. I know the kids are excited for the break! However, I need your help parents... Please encourage your kids to try and stay focused through this week so that we can finish up our first Math unit and take our exam. I have scheduled our Unit 1 Math Exam for Friday. We will finish up fractions and word problems on Monday and Tuesday, then we will review in class Wednesday and Thursday. Everything they need to study for this exam is in the Interactive Math Notebook. I will encourage them to bring this home daily this week. Please encourage them to study a few minutes every night! As far as my Social Studies class, we will keep moving through Ancient Egypt right up until fall break, then we will pick it back up after the break. Looking forward to a great week!!

Homecoming Week!

REMINDER: It's homecoming week! Don't forget to dress up!
Monday - college day
Tuesday - pajama day
Wednesday - western day
Thursday - purple and gold day
Friday - crazy hair day

Social Studies Test

We will have a Social Studies Test over Ancient Mesopotamia on Tuesday! Monday we will review in class. As always, send me an email or Dojo message with any questions!

Math Quiz Monday

We will have a math quiz Monday over multiplying and dividing integers! Each student should have their math binder at home this weekend to study. As always, if they (or you) have any questions about how to do anything, please send me an email or a Dojo message this weekend!

Math Quiz Tomorrow

Hello families!

First of all, I want to thank each one of you that came out last night to Open House. We had a great turn out, and we appreciate the support!

I also want to let you know that we have a math quiz tomorrow over ADDING AND SUBTRACTING INTEGERS. I have told the students to bring their Math binder home to study tonight. It would be very helpful if you could help them study the rules for adding and subtracting. I also sent home a practice worksheet with an attached answer sheet. I will not take this as a grade, however, I do recommend that they try these problems on their own, then they can check their answers. We have been talking about this same topic for quite some time now, and they should be ready to test. Please, please help them study tonight and make sure that they look over those rules that we have learned.

If you have any questions at all about this quiz, please feel free to email me or message me on ClassDojo. I am always available to help. My emails and messages go straight to my phone, so I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Thank you,

Tabitha Rue

Social Studies Test

UPDATE: Test has been rescheduled for Thursday!

My 6th grade Social Studies class will have a test tomorrow on the first 7 standards that we have covered. This test will cover the Human Origins PowerPoint and notes that are available on my page in the 6th grade resources.

Update

Please see the important change on the supply list! Buying a calculator is OPTIONAL. There will be calculators available at the school when the time comes for them to use them.
Also, please be sure to sign and return ALL forms as soon as possible. Some forms have a back side that also needs to be filled out and signed. If those are not done correctly, they will be sent back home. The bus rules form is required by everyone, even if the student doesn't ride a bus. They will ride a bus for field trips, and the same rules apply. I have also sent home a welcome letter and some other important information. There is a signature sheet on that as well that needs to be returned to school. If you have any questions about any of the forms or paperwork, please feel free to email me or call the school. true@roaneschools.com
Thank you,
Mrs. Rue
