Who I am...

I am a very happy Mom and Mimi!  I have four incredible children and three adorable grand-babies.  My oldest daughter is 27, married,  and is the proud owner of my two grandsons, ages 3 and 20 months, and my brand new granddaughter who is not even a month old!  My second daughter is 23, married and is pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Pharmacology.  My third and FINAL daughter is 12 years old and is an active 7th grade student here at OSMS.  Finally, God has a brilliant sense of humor.  He gave me my ONE and ONLY SON at the ripe old age of 40; just when I was too old to chase a rambunctious boy!  He is the light of my life and I had no clue what I was missing not having a son... until I got him!  He is a priceless treasure, as they all are, but he is my baby boy.  :)  I enjoy being outside and playing with my kids.  I would say that water is my happy place; I enjoy swimming, kayaking, and just plain old floating!  My additional interests are singing, reading, and coloring.

Experience...

Prior to teaching, I had many years working with students with Special Needs of all abilities.  I was the director of a before and after-school childcare program for the YMCA for 5 years, and I directed a program for teens with disabilities, ages 12 - 21, for 4 years.

I have been teaching Special Education for 8 years, and I am beginning my 3rd year at Oliver Springs Middle School.  The bulk of my teaching experience took place in Louisville, KY, however, being a country girl at heart, Tennessee is where I seem to thrive as a person and as a teacher.  I look forward to serving the Oliver Springs community for a number of years to come.
